bleedy, bleedy, blood in my finger

Here's the smart thing I did the other night. I cooked a pork roast (shoulder, because I guess Smith's thinks "butt" is a naughty word, so they call it "shoulder" instead) and was taking it off the bone and chunking it into smaller pieces to make carnitas the next night. So obviously I was holding the big pieces of meat and slicing them in my hand. And if you know me, you know I keep my knives wicked sharp. And somehow, I'm not quite sure how I could have foreseen it, I sliced into my finger nice and deep. And with a really sharp knife you can't tell you've cut yourself until you're bleeding like a stuck pig. It was cool.

The peas were up today, which is a real load off. I actually started digging into the row the other day to see if the chickens had sneaked them out of the ground. We have our peas, carrots, radishes, cauliflower, beets and salad greens all planted. I am a big, fat dynamo! Our neighbor down the road said he's going to give us some onion seeds. He's awesome like that.

I'ma go eat some ice cream now.
