larry king-style

I have some Quark going in the cupboard right now. It won't be ready until tomorrow morning, but when it is I am expecting Steven to sniff it out and show up at our doorstep, since he is a Deutschophile.

I bought a flat of strawberries from Kent's on Friday last, and they were only about the worst strawberries--and nearly the worst food--I have ever had. They are so terrible that my children, who eat fruit like monkeys in the zoo, minus the manners, refuse to eat them. Happy Tuesday, chickens!

There are frogs living in the marshy area behind our field, and they are awesomely loud. I love hearing them every spring. If I can just convince John to let me get a pig, I bet we can get a love connection going on.

I mowed the lawn and fertilized it yesterday, because I told John I would rather have him not be stressed out about all the weeds in our lawn than cling to my insane theories that carcinogens are bad for people. But then I felt guilty, and later when I was listening to Fresh Air, like I said, in the second half--the part after the brown-nosing druggies--they were talking about water pollution from agricultural and residential runoff and male fish with female eggs in their gonads and frogs with six legs and mutated alligators, and all the other things we keep hearing about, like the dead zones in the ocean from the chemicals coming down the Mississippi river, and I felt just great. Why do we poop where we eat? Maybe I'll just tear out the lawn. At least some of it.

Wanna hear my superfantastico idea? Well, too bad. It's not finished, and I'm not going to bring a bunch of convicts into the house with my unpatented idea. But trust me, it's going to be great, and I just wish there were one of these for everywhere I want to visit. And no, it's not a purse toilet. Although . . .

ENTER TODAY TO WIN THE SOAP, DUDES. TOMORROW NIGHT AT BEDTIME IS THE DRAWING.

Speaking of strawberries . . . do you have a fabulous strawberry jam recipe? I know you've been experimenting.

Not yet, but my sister-in-law has one that uses half the sugar of the normal recipe. Here's a link: http://emilyandmatthew.blogspot.com/2009/04/strawberry-freezer-jam.html

I will probably end up using hers this year, because I'm getting tired of wasting all these strawberries.
