I guess Postum is extinct now? Sad face emoji, it was my coffee substitute of choice. I tried Pero and it just wasn't the same. But that was long ago, so maybe I should give it another chance. Today I bought a jar of a German something or other that looked Postum-y, and it's pretty good. Do people outside of Utah drink coffee substitutes?
Mittens isn't going to run for president after all, so there goes my awesome comic idea. I hope he's happy--if that's not a prime example of the 1% ignoring the needs of the 99% I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS. Speaking of comics, may I tell you something? Kate Beaton is a comedic genius, and I adore her style. This is one of my favorites. There is something about olde-tymey subject matter juxtaposed with modern dialogue that slays me every time.
I don't really know how to feel about the press conference the LDS church held the other day. There were some nice sentiments voiced, but also a number of what seemed to me to be fairly disingenuous statements. There's a lot of very unpleasant water running under that bridge. For me it raised as many questions as it answered, and I was sorry they didn't stream the question and answer portion, since that would probably have been a little less scripted. And I would like to state here my opinion that apologies are a good thing. When you've hurt someone, whether you meant to or not, you should say you're sorry. It's what decent people (and institutions) do.
